Question:
Babu Bhai walks 40 m towards South, then turns right and walks 30 m. Now, he sees Kabira standing 20 m away from him, towards West, so he turns back and walks 40 m. Then he turns left and walks 40 m. Then, he again turns left and walks 30 m. If Kabira remains at the same point where he was earlier, how for is Babu Bhai now from Kabira and in which direction, with respect to his initial point? (Assume that Kabira is standing at the same point).
Options:
A) 50m,West
B) 50m,East
C) 50 m, South-east
D)

60 m, South-west

Solution:
Ans: (a)

The movement can be shown as given below:

In the diagram above, P is the initial and Q is the final position of Babu Bhai.

Hence, the required distance

OQ = \(\sqrt[]{30^2+40^2} \ \ \ \ \ \)= 50m and Babu Bhai is to the West of his initial position.
