please explain how option c is correct?

Question:

Directions: A sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best expresses the same sentence in Indirect/Direct speech.

“I will never leave you”, she said. 

Options:
A)

She said that she will never leave me. 

B)

She told me that she shall never leave me. 

C)

She swore never to leave me. 

D)

She swore that I would never leave you. 

Solution:

Ans: (c) She swore never to leave me.
