The formula is (n-2)*180
then why we are adding value of sides also in the formula?

Question:

Ratio of the number of sides of two regular polygons is 5 : 6 and the ratio of their each interior angle is 24 : 25. Then the number of sides of these two polygons are –

Options:
A)

20, 24

B)

15, 18

C)

10, 12

D)

5, 6

Dear Student,
Please refer the solution given below.
Each interior angle of a regular polygon = ( n-2)*180 / n , where n is no of sides
Here given ratio of two sides, i.e n1 / n2 = 5:6
Also given {(n1 - 2)*180 / n1} / {( n2 - 2)*180 / n2} = 24 :25
On solving we get ,
{(n1 - 2)*n2} / {(n2-2)*n1} = 24:25
Now use above relation between n1 and n2 and you will get the answer.

Thanks and Regards

I got the issue (n-2)*180 is the sum of all angle and here the ratio given is for individual angle.
