 If x =  5+15-1    then the value x2 + x – 1 is :

Options:
A)

  5+1   

B)

     2

  -5

Solution:

x =  5+15-1     →     x2 =  5+15-1   

→    x2 =    

x =  5+15-1     =  5+12   

x2 + x – 1 = 3+52+5+12-1    

x2 + x – 1 =  3+5+5+1-22   

x2 + x – 1 = 2+252= 5+1
