It can be 2 also. If x^3 is -1 then x is -1. therefore x^34 is 1 and 1/x^34 is also 1. hence 1+1=2.

Question:
If x + \(\cfrac{1}{x}\) = 1, then the value of x34 +  \(\cfrac{1}{x^{34}}\) is- 
Options:
A) 1
B) 34
C) –1
D) 68
Solution:
Ans: (c)

You will get the value of x^3=-1 not x^2=1 after solving the equation. The solution is right.
