plz provide lcm method

Question:

Varun alone can do a piece of work in 16 hours while Akash alone can do it in 18 hours. They together took Rs. 360 to do the same work. If with the help of Arun, they finish the piece of work in 4 hour, then how much money is paid to Arun?

Options:
A) Rs. 170
B) Rs. 180
C) Rs. 190
D) Rs. 200
Solution:
Ans: (c)



Alt sol:


Varun's work for 4 hr. = 4 × 1/16 = 1/4 part


Varun gets 1/4 × 360 = Rs 90


Akash's work for 4hr. = 4 × 1/18 = 2/9 part


Akash gets = 2/9 × 360 = Rs 80


So, Arun gets = 360 – (90 + 80) = Rs 190

work done by varun in 1 hr=(1/16)=(9/144)
work done by akash in 1 hr=1/18=(8/144)
work done by arun in 1 hr=1/x
(1/16)+(1/18)+(1/x)=(1/4)
by solving x=144/19
hence work done by arun=19/144
work ratio of varun, akash and arun=9:8:19
amount of work done by arun of the total work=19/36
hence (19/36)*360=190

Dear Student,

Varun Can do a work in 1 hour =1/16
Akash can do a work in 1 hour =1/18

Ratio between varu and akash's work = 9:8

Arun worked for 4 hour
thus
144/X= 4
X= 36 for total work.
So the work ratio between Varn:Akash:Arun
9: 8 : 19
Arun gets = 19/36* 360
= 190 Rs
