This sentence is grammatically incorrect (Question: 257470.9 )

This sentence is grammatically incorrect when we use option 3
it should be " Deepak was determined to get a better job, hence he was pursuing higher studies"

" Deepak was determined to get a better job, pursuing higher studies" makes no sense!
