largest + smallest - intermediate = ans
879...... 7+9-8=8
625...... 6+2-5=3
785...... 8+5-7=6

Question:
DIRECTIONS: Find the missing term from the given responses.

If  879 = 8, 625 = 3, 586 = 9 then, 785 = ? 

Options:
A) 0
B) 5
C) 7
D) 6
Solution:
Ans: (a) 879 \(\Rightarrow\) (8 + 7 + 9) = 24 = 2 × 4 = 8  

625 \(\Rightarrow\) (6 + 2 + 5) = 13 = 1 × 3 = 3

586 \(\Rightarrow\) (5 + 8 + 6) = 19 = 1 × 9 = 9

Similarly,

785 = (7 + 8 + 5) = 20 = 2 × 0 = 0

Your logic is not appropriate as it doesn't fit in 586 because as per your logic: largest+smallest-intermediate = ans
