the snake was killed by them with a stick (Question:303106.0)

why above sentence is not ok

Question:

In the following question, a sentence has been given in Active/Passive Voice. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best expresses the same sentence in Passive/Active Voice?


They killed the snake with a stick.

Options:
A)

The snake was killed by a stick.

B)

The snake was killed by them with a stick.

C)

The snake was killed with a stick.

D)

The snake killed them with a stick.

Solution:

While changing the voice, we interchange the respective places of the subject and the object. In passive voice, we always use the third form of the verb with the helping verb. Some changes are made in the pronoun usage. 

Given sentence is in Past simple tense.

Rule: Subject + (was /were) + V3+ Other agents.
