so as per the given conditions the work will take minimum 13 days

2 days combined work(one third completed) and 12 days for kapil( to finish remaing 2/3)... so if arvind joins on last day it 'll take 11+2 + some hours to finish it.
but it's given 12 days to finish the enitre work

and wage is devided in that ratio

Question:

Arvind & Kapil can complete a work individually in 9 days and 18 days respectively. They worked together for two days and then Arvind left. Arvind joined him again on the last day of completion. In total they took 12 days to complete the work. A total amount of Rs. 1800 is paid for the entire work. What is the share of Arvind in it?

Options:
A) Rs. 600
B) Rs. 900
C) Rs. 200
D) Rs. 300
Solution:

Ans: (a)

In total Arvind worked for (2 + 1) = 3 days

Part of the work done by Arvind = 3 × \(\cfrac{1}{9}\) = \(\cfrac{1}{3}\).

∴ Share of Arvind = \(\cfrac{1}{3}\) × 1800 = Rs. 600

total work is 18(LCM 9,18) ARV WORK IS 2 UNIT /DAY
KPIL WORK 1 UNIT /DAY
SO ARVIND WORK FIRST 2 DAYS AND LAST 1 DAY
SO WORK DONE BY ARVIND =3*2=6 UNIT
KPIL WORKS FOR 9 DAYS ALONE AND 3 DAYS WITH ARVIND
SO WORK DONE BY KPIL =(9+3)*1=12 UNIT
RATIO WILL BE 1:2 AND ARVIND WILL HAVE 1/3
