while applying alligation method, we are considering the resultant cost per kg to still be the same, even when only two of three components are taken at a time. So, while applying that method, we in fact are calculating the ratios of two components in the mixture containing only two of them with resultant price as 1.41.
I don't think it should be the correct way.

Moreover, The solution, if crossed checked, does not hold true.
as 11x1.2+77x1.44+7x1.74 is not equal to (11+77+7)x1.41

Question:

In what ratio must a person mix three kinds of wheat costing him Rs.1.20, Rs.1.44 and Rs.1.74 per kg so that the mixture may be worth of Rs.1.41 per kg?

12 : 7 : 7

B)

12 : 49 : 7

C)

7 : 12 : 6

D)

11 : 45 : 7
