Let average age be x initially.
total age=8x
let y be the sum of age of the 2 persons.

(8x-y+(30+34))/8=x+3

Solving, we get y=40

Question:
Average age of 8 men is increased by 3 years when two of them whose ages are 30 and 34 years are replaced by 2 persons. What is the average age of the 2 persons ?
Options:
A) 24 years 
B) 32 years 
C) 44 years 
D) 48 years

ur eqn should be 8x+y-(30+34)=8(x+3) which gives y=88...
then req avg=y/2 = 88/2 = 44yrs
