Question:

DIRECTIONS: In the following questions, some of the sentences have errors and some are correct. Find out which part of a sentence has an error and blacken the oval corresponding to the appropriate letter (a), (b), (c). If a sentence is free from errors, blacken the oval corresponding to (d) in the Answer Sheet.

One of my student (a)/tells me (b)/that she has failed in English. (c)/No error (d)

Options:
A)

(a)

B)

(b)

C)

(c)

D)

(d)

Solution:

Ans: (a) Noun following the phrase 'one of the' is always plural noun, whereas use of singular or plural will entirely depend upon the subject of the statement. So, 'students' will replace 'student'.

"one of " is always followed by plural countable noun and singular verb. so "students" is correct. for ex.>>One of my friends comes to office by train
