Pls explain this statement

Question:
A alone can reap a certain field in 15 days and B in 12 days. If A begins alone and after a certain interval B joins him the field is reaped in 7\(\cfrac{1}{2}\) days. How long did A and B work together?
Options:
A) 3 days
B) 6 days
C) 7 days
D) 12 days

A alone can reap a certain field in 15 days and B in 12 days.
So, A's 1 day work = 1/15
B's 1 day work = 1/12
(A+B)'s 1 day work = 1/15 + 1/12 = 3/20
Now, If A starts alone to reap the field and after a certain interval of time, B joins A, the field is reaped in 7 and 1/2 days. How long did A and B work together?
