solved question by taking DE: EC ratio 3:2 (Question: 111044.0 )

please solve the question by taking DE:EC ratio as 1:2, you have solved the question by taking ratio 3:2.
taking ratio 1:2 we will get the answer 1:1

Question:
In the figure ABCD is a parallelogram with  AD = a unis, DC = 2a units and DE : EC = 1 : 2 CEFG is a rectangle with EF = 3AE. What is the ratio of the area of a parallelogram and the rectangle?


Options:
A) 1 : 1
B) 1 : 2
C) \(\cfrac{a^2}{5}:1\)
D) 2 : 1

there has to be a correction made in the solution
DE/EC=1/2
AND dc/ec=3/2
DC=3/2EC
THUS...
AE*DC=FE/3*3/2EC
(FE*EC)/2
area of rectangle EFCG/2
...Required Ratio=1:2
