Question:
16 women take 12 days to complete a work which can be completed by 12 men in 8 days, 16 men started working and after 3 days 10 men left and 4 women joined them. How many days will it take them to complete the remaining work?
Options:
A) 4
B) 6
C) 8
D) 10
Solution:

\(\therefore\) Total work = 16 × 1 × 12        (from I)

                    = 192 units

Now, work done by 16 men in 3 days

= 16 × 2 × 3

= 96 units

Now, 10 mens left and 4 women join

and remaining work = 192 – 96 = 96 unit

\(\therefore\) Time to complete the remaining work

Dear Student,

16*12w=12*8m => m= 2w.
12men complete a work in 8days => 48m complete it in 2days. => 16m completes the work in 6days. In this way, in 3days, 16men completes 1/2 of the work. Rem work = 1/2w
Now, 4w join 6m (10m leave) = 6m + 2m(=4w)= 8m.
16m completes the work in 6days then 16m completes the Half Work in 6days.
Answer : 6days.
Remaining work = 24-14 = 10
