Question:

The taxi charges in a city contain fixed charges and additional charge/km. The fixed charge is for a distance of upto 5 km and additional charge/km thereafter. The charge for a distance of 10 km is 350 and for 25 km is 800. The charge for a distance for distance of 30 km is -

let fixed rent=x
then x+10y=350
and x+25y=800
substract both equation
y=30 and x=50
now 30km distance rent=30*30+50=950
