Let cp of fridge = x and that of washing machine= y
Now, 0.9x + 1.2y=x+y (As no loss no gain) ------ (1)
and again 1.05x + 0.95 y = x+y-10 --------- (2)


Solve for x and y to get x= 400 and y= 200

Question:

A man purchased a fridge and a washing machine. If he sells the fridge at 10% loss and the washing machine at 20% profit he neither gains nor losses. If he sells the fridge at 5% gain and washing machine at 5% loss, he losses Rs. 10 in all. Find the cost price of each of the fridge and washing machine respectively.
