A boat goes 12 km downstream and comes back to the starting point in 3 hours. If the speed of the current is 3 km/hr, then the speed of the boat in still water is –

B) 9 km/hr
C) 8 km/hr
D) 6 km/hr
Solution:
Ans: (b) 

Let the  speed of the boat = x km/hr.

the speed of the current = 3 km/hr.

ATQ,


so, the speed of the boat in still water = 9 km/hr.
