In an obtuse-angled triangle ABC, ∠A is the obtuse angle and O is the orthocenter. If ∠BOC = 54°, then ∠BAC is:

Solution:

 

In quadrilateral OPAQ,

∠POQ + ∠OQA + ∠QAP + ∠APO = 360°

54° + x° + 90° + 90° = 360°

\(\Rightarrow\) x° = 126° 

Now, ∠PAQ = ∠BAC (vertically opposite angle)

\(\Rightarrow\) ∠BAC = 126°
