while calculating the total amount it should be 5000+ 70% of 5000 because principal is 5000 according to the question.

Question:
If Rs. 5,000 becomes Rs. 5,700 in a year's time, what will Rs. 7,000 become at the end of 5 years at the same rate of interest ?
Options:
A) Rs. 10,500
B) Rs. 11,900
C) Rs. 12,700
D) Rs. 7,700
Solution:
Ans: (b) \(\cfrac{700}{5000}\) × 100 = 14% \(\rightarrow\)  rate of interest

\(\therefore \) At the end of 5th year = 14% × 5

= 70% interest

\(\therefore \) Total amount = 7000 + 70% of 7000

= 7000 + 4900

= 11,900
