solution given by top ranker is wrong. (Question:301923.0)

X=1. if you write 101 in denominator like 100+1; you can see that numerator and denominator are identical. so X=1. so B option is correct.

Question:

 Let there be 100 fractions:  12,  34,  45,…, 100101    .There is another fraction x =  1+2+3+4+…+1002+3+4+5+…+101    Then,


Options:
A)

 x is less than the smallest of the given 100 fractions

B)

 x is more than the biggest of the given 100 fractions

C)

 x lies between the smallest and the biggest of the given fractions

D)

 x is the arithmetic mean of the ratio of numerators to denominators

Solution:

The best way to solve such questions is to take a smaller case. Let there be two fractions only, 

1/2 and 2/3. Then x = 3/5 which lies between the two given fractions.
