soln is too long u can solve it by ratio of their age.....
sita mother=
1:4= 1:4
1:2= 3:6
1-3 or 4-6 is= 20 years
so 1 =10
sita age 10*1+10=20

Question:
10 years ago, Sita’s mother was 4 times older than her daughter. After 10 years, the mother will be twice older than the daughter. What is the present age of Sita?
Options:
A) 20 yrs
B) 22 yrs
C) 24 yrs
D) 25 yrs
Solution:

Let 10 years ago, the ages of Sita and her mother were ‘x’  years and ‘4x’ years

respectively.

∴ Present age of Sita = (x + 10) years & present age of her mother

= (4x + 10) years

∴ 10 years hence,

Sita’s age = (x + 10) + 10 = (x + 20) years and her mother’s age

= (4x + 10) + 10 = (4x + 20) years

According to question

⇒ 4x + 20 = 2(x + 20)

⇒ 4x + 20 = 2x + 40

⇒ 4x – 2x = 40 – 20

⇒ 2x = 20

⇒ x = 10

Present age of Sita

= x + 10 = 10 + 10 = 20 years
