when time increase and decrease in equal ration as here is given at one place 2 hours more and another 2 hour less than there is a direct formula to get speed ie

speed = [ 2*( increased speed)*(decreased speed)] /( increased - decreased speed)

=2 *(14)*(10)/ (14 -10) = 70km/hour

distance = speed *time

70* (Usual time) = (70 +14) (usual time -2)

70t = 84(t-2)
14t= 168 so t (usual time) = 12 hrs.

distance = speed * time
= 70 *12= 840 km.

You can also go with this approach, both are correct but we have provided general approach.

Thanks and Regards
