Question:
A certain sum at certain rate becomes \(\unicode{x20B9} \)1,344 in 4 years. The same sum becomes \(\unicode{x20B9} \)1,416 in 6 years at same rate of interest. Find the principal and rate of interest?
Options:
A) Rs.1,200 and 3% P.a.
B) Rs.1,100 and 5% P.a.
C) Rs.1,200 and 4% P.a.
D) Rs.1,100 and 4% P.a.
Solution:
4 years amount = 1344

6 years amount = 1416

difference = 1416-1344 = 72

2 years interest is 72

S.I.  = \(\frac{P×R×T}{100}\)

72 = \(\frac{1200×R×2}{100}\)

\(\frac{72}{24}\) = R

R = 3%
