some short trick please

Question:

A solution of salt and water contains 15% salt. After evaporating 8 liter of water from it, remaining has 20% salt. The weight of the original solution is:

Options:
A) 36 kg
B) 24 kg
C) 32 kg
D) 40 kg
Solution:
Ans: (c)

Alternate sol:

Let Mixture was X initially.
Initial Salt = 15% of X = 0.15X.
Initial Water = 85% of X = 0.85X.
8 kg of water evaporated.
So, Final water = (0.85X - 8).
Now, salt rises to 20% of the mixture, it means as water dried up salt rises.

Now, Total Mixture = (0.85X -8 + 0.15X).
Final salt = 20% of(0.85X - 8 + 0.15X)

As, , we have,

0.15X = 20% of(0.85X - 8 + 0.15X)

Thus, X = 32 kg

Dear Student,

Initial Amount of salt = Final amount of salt,

0.15X = 20% of(0.85X - 8 + 0.15X)

Thus, X = 32 kg
