Rs. word is not visible in any questions (Question: 108109.0 )

In the mock test questions, the Rs. word is not visible anytime. In place of Rs. a Box symbol is visible. For example, Rs. 100 is being shown as [] 100.

Question:

A reduction of 20% in the price of sugar enables a purchaser  to obtain 8 kg more for Rs 160. The price per kg before reduction was:

Options:
A) Rs 4
B) Rs 5
C) Rs 6
D) Rs 10
Solution:
Ans: (b)

New price of 8 kg sugar = 20% of 160 = \(\unicode{x20B9} \)32

\(\therefore\) New price of 1 kg sugar = \(\cfrac{32}{8}=Rs 4\)

\(\therefore\) Old price of 1 kg sugar   = \(\cfrac{4}{.8}=Rs 5\)
