Solution:

Ans: (b) Change “would beat” to “would have beaten”.

        Rule:- When in the sentence, a wish is mentioned which is not fulfilled in the past then the correct expression is Subject + wished + would have + V3.

haan toh "wished" kehke bhi yeh pta chal jata h ki pehle wish kiya tha, abhi nhi. but my doubt is war toh past me hui thi toh "could beat" ya "could have beaten" nhi hona chahiye kya ???
