how 50 is used in the solution

Question:

How many metres length of cloth 10 m wide will be required to make a conical tent with base radius of 14 m and height is 48 m?

Options:
A) 110 m
B) 55 m
C) 77 m
D) 220 m
Solution:
Ans: (d)

Slant height of a cone: ( l ) = √(r2 + h2)

 = √(142 + 482

 = √196 + 2304

 = √2500

 l = 50 m

Lateral surface area of a cone = πrl

=\(\cfrac{22}{7}\times 14\times50\)= 2200 m2

Hence length of cloth= \(\cfrac{2200}{10}\)

= 220 m

Dear student Slant height of a cone: ( l ) = √(r^2 + h^2) = √(14^2 + 48^2) = √196 + 2304 = √2500 l = 50 m Lateral surface area of a cone: L = πrl = 22/7*14*50 = 2200 Hence length of cloth= 2200/10 = 220 m Keep learning Team TR
