Why B is coded as 11, when in question it is clearly said that the code of immediate neighobour consonants is 6,7,8,9,10, so B shall be coded as 6

Question:

If the vowels of the English alphabet are represented as 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively and their immediate consonants as 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 respectively and each remaining consonant as 11, then the sum of the numbers of the word ‘OBLIQUE’ would be?

Solution:

Ans: (D) According to question,

Code all the vowels as- A-1, E-2 ,I-3 ,O-4,U-5 and BFJPV Remain letters(consonants) as 11

   OBLIQUE

 4 + 6 + 11 + 3 + 11 + 5 + 2 = 42
