Questions are different in different versions. (Question:642271.0)

Center table is 40% as much as Sofa set as mentioned in English version whereas It is 40% more costly than the latter is what is given in the Hindi version. BASTARDS

Mohit goes to furniture shop to buy a sofa set and a center table. He bargains for a 10% discount on the center table and 25% discount on sofa set. However, the shopkeeper, by mistake, interchanged the discount percentage figures .while making the bill and mohit paid accordingly. When compared to what he should pay for his purchases, what percentage did mohit pay extra given that the center table costs 40% as much as the sofa set.

A) 12.3%
B) 7.2%
C) 8.1%

Solution:

Centre table – 40 sofa set – 100

According to Mohit, cost of centre table –

\(\cfrac{90}{100}\) × 40 = 36

Cost of sofa set –

\(\cfrac{75}{100}\) × 100

According to shopkeeper,

CT – \(\cfrac{75}{100}\) × 40 = 30

SS – \(\cfrac{90}{100}\) × 100 = \(\cfrac{90}{120}\)

Therefore, extra = 8.1%
