Question:
The prices of a scooter and a T.V. are in the ratio 7 : 5 respectively . If the scooter costs Rs 8000 more than a T.V. set. then the price of a T.V. set is:
Options:
A) Rs.20,000
B) Rs.24,000
C) Rs.28,000
D) Rs.32,000
Solution:
Let the price be x
So the ratio be 7x and 5x.
price of scooter is 8000 more so,
5x + 8000 = 7x
7x - 5x = 8000
2x = 8000
x=\(\frac{ 8000}{2}\)
x=Rs 4000
Price of t.v=5\(\times\)4000
=Rs 20,000
