Simaran left after 4 days.
So the efficiency 4 should be taken into consideration at the last part i.e.20/4=5 days (Ans)

Question:
Simaran and Jessica can do a work in 16 and 12 days respectively. They worked together for four days then Simaran left the job. The remaining work was finished by Jessica in –
Options:
A) 8 days
B) 6 \(\cfrac{2}{3}\) days
C) 7 days
D) 8 \(\cfrac{1}{3}\) days
Solution:
Ans: (b)

Work done by both in 4 days = 4 × 7 = 28 units

Remaining work = 48 – 28 = 20 units

Time taken by Jessica to complete the remaining work = \(\cfrac{20}{3}\) = 6 \(\cfrac{2}{3}\) days
