question is wrong
comparison mistake

Question:
A, B and C working together can do a piece of work in 10 days. If A takes twice as long as B and C together, B takes thrice as long as A and C together how many days will C alone take to finish the work?
Options:
A) 14 days
B) 35 days
C) 34 days
D) 24 days
Solution:
Ans: (d) Time taken by A is two times of time taken by B and C together.

\(\therefore\) Days taken by A = 3 times of days taken by (A + B + C)

= 3 \(\times\) 10 = 30 days

\(\therefore\) One day’s work of A = \(\cfrac{1}{30}\)

Time taken by B is 3 times of time taken by A and C together.

\(\therefore\) Days taken by B = 4 times of days taken by (A + B + C)

= 4 \(\times\) 10 = 40 days

\(\therefore\) One day’s work of B = \(\cfrac{1}{40}\)

But, (A + B + C)’s one day’s work = \(\cfrac{1}{10}\)

\(\therefore\) One day’s work of C = \(\cfrac{1}{10}-\cfrac{1}{30}-\cfrac{1}{40}\)

= \(\cfrac{12-4-3}{120} = \cfrac{5}{120}= \cfrac{1}{24}\)

\(\therefore\) C alone will finish the work in 24 days.
