I am not able to understand the figure given here and its explanation is also not clear. from where you have taken the length of lower part as 10 cm.

Question:
The volume of the solid shown in figure is :


Options:
A) 660 cm3
B) 220 cm3
C) 420 cm3
D) 880 cm3
Solution:
Ans: (d)

For lower part : length = 10 cm 

Breadth = 22 cm, height = 3 cm 

Volume of lower part = 10 × 22 × 3 = 660 cm3

For upper part : length = 22 cm

Breadth = 2 cm 

Height = 5 cm 

Volume of upper part = 22 × 2 × 5 = 220 cm3

Volume of whole piece = (600 + 220) cm3 = 880 cm3
