Aryan runs at a speed of 35 metres/minute. Rahul follows him after an interval of 12 minutes and runs at a speed of 55 metres/minute. Rahul’s dog runs at a speed of 68 metres/minute and start along with Rahul. The dog reaches Aryan and then comes back to Rahul, and continues to do so till Rahul reaches Aryan. What is the total distance covered by the dog?

Solution:

After 12 minute difference between Aryan and Rahul $= 35 \times 12 = 420$ meters

They run in the same direction so time = $\frac{420}{55 - 35} = 21$ min.

His dog covers distance = $21 \times 68 = 1428$ meter = $1.4$ km
