can u explain how to find x value

Question:

If the product of three consecutive numbers is 210 then sum of the two greater number is –

Options:
A)

11

B)

15

C)

13

D)

17

Solution:

Ans: (c)

Let consecutive three numbers be x, x + 1, x + 2.

Product = 210

x(x + 1)(x + 2) = 210

After solving, x = 5

Numbers are 5, 6, 7.

Sum of two greater numbers = 6 + 7 = 13

Dear Student,
When we find factors of 210 , they come out to be 2,3,5,7.
If we want three consecutive numbers then from 2, 3,5,7 it must be (2*3) , 5, 7 , ie 5,6,7
Therefore sum of largest 2 = 6+7 = 13
