Question:
A, B and C can do a job in 6 days, 12 days and 15 days respectively. After \(\cfrac{1}{8}\) of the work is completed, C leaves the job. Rest of the work is done by A and B together. Time taken to finish the work is

A) \(5\cfrac{5}{6}\) days 
B) \(5\cfrac{1}{4}\) days
C) \(3\cfrac{1}{2}\) days
D) \(3\cfrac{3}{4}\) days
Solution:
Ans: (c) 

 Let the Time taken to finish the work is  x


x(1/6+1/12)=7/8


so, x = 7/2 = 3 and 1/2
