If (a- 1)2 + (b+2)2 +(c+ 1)2 = 0, then the value of 2a - 3b + 7c is:
Options:
A) 12 
B) 3
C) -11

Solution:

(a- 1)2 + (b+2)2 +(c+ 1)2 = 0

⇒ a – 1 = 0 ⇒ a = 1;

b + 2 = 0 ⇒ b = -2

c + 1 = 0 ⇒ c = -1

∴ 2a – 3b + 7c

= 2 – 3(-2) + 7(- 1) = 2 + 6 – 7 = 1
