From direct to indirect speech, 'now' will become 'then'. so option B should be correct. Please clarify

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following questions, sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect Speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested select the one which best expresses the same sentence in Indirect/Direct Speech.

A) He says that he is going to the market now
B) He said that he was going to the market then.

The action is been committed in the present
Thus option(c) however right it may appear, Its not correct because option displays committed in the past
Thus option (a) is the right answer
He says that he is going to the market now
