17 days should be the answer. Because he saves 50 after 2 days and 100 after 4 days. So he saves 400 after 16 days and on 17th day, he'll have 600 in his hand which he'll spend on 18th day amounting to the total savings of 450 at the end of 18th day. So 17 days should be the answer.

Question:

A man earns Rs 200 on the first day and spends Rs 150 on the next day. He again earns Rs 200 on the third day and spends Rs 150 on the fourth day. If he continues to save  like thus, how soon will he have Rs 600 in hand?

Options:
A) 10 days
B) 12 days
C) 18 days
D) 17 days
Solution:
Ans: (d)

In two days, total savings = Rs 50

Till 16th day, he will earn = 8 × 50 = Rs 400

Now, on the 17th day, he will earn = 400 + 200 = Rs 600
