can u explain how 1/2 will be the total mixture of quantity

Question:

 How many litres of a 12 litre mixture containing milk and water in the ratio of 2:3 be replaced with pure milk so, that the resultant mixture contain milk and water in equal proportion?

Options:
A)

 1 lit.

B)

 2 lit.

C)

 3 lit.

D)

 4 lit.

Solution:

  

So quality replaced =  16×12=2lit.
