Solution:
Ans: (a) 1 * 2 \(\Rightarrow\) (1 + 2) – (1 × 2) = 1

2 * 3 = (2 + 3) – (2 × 3) = –1

3 * 4 = (3 + 4) – (3 × 4) = – 5 

Similarly,

7 * 9 = (7 + 9) – (7 × 9) = – 47

(1*2) - (2+1) * - = 1
