WRONG FORMULA

Question:

From a solid cylinder whose height is 12 cm and diameter 10 cm a conical cavity of same height and same diameter of the base is hollowed out. The volume of the remaining solid is approximately (π = 22/7):     

Options:
A) 942.86 cm3 
B) 314.29 cm3
C) 628.57 cm3 
D) 450.76 
Solution:

Ans.(c) Volume of remaining solid 

= Volume of cylinder – Volume of cone

=  \(\pi\)r2 h - \(\frac{1}{3}\pi\)r2 h 

=628.57cm3
