please tell another method to solve the question it is not understandable !!!!

Question:

A train travels a certain distance with the uniform speed. If the speed of train is 14 km/h more, then the time taken to travel the same distance is 2 hour less. If the speed of train is 10 km/hr less, then time will be 2 hour more. Find the distance and the time taken to travel the distance.

Options:
A)

420 km, 12 hr

B)

840 km, 8 hr

C)

840 km, 12 hr

D)

can’t be determined

Solution:

Ans: (c)

Alternate method-

s=d/t

In case l-

d = st

d =(s+14)(t-2)

st = st -2s + 14t -28

14t - 2s= 28-------------eq(1)

In case ll-

d = st

st = (s - 10) (t+2)

st = st +2s -10t -20

2s -10t =20--------------eq(2)

from eq(1) and (2)

4t =48

 t= 12 hour and s =70km/h

*Dear student ,this type of question can also solve by option elimination method.
