If the fault current is 2000 Amp, the relay setting at 50% and CT ratio is  4005 , then the plug setting multiplier will be-

Options:
A)

25 Amp

B)

15 Amp

Solution:

Ans:(d)

Fault current = 2000 amp

CT Ratio =  4005    

rated CT current for relay = 5amps

Relay setting = 50%

\(\therefore\) Pick up current for relay = 50% of 5 

= 2.5 amp.

\(\therefore\) fault current at secondary of CT 

=   5400  × 2000 = 25Amp

Plug Setting multiplier =  252.5 = 10
