Question:
Some boys are sitting in a row facing north. P is 7th on the left of Q. R, who is 20th in the row from left, is 7th on the right of Q. If S, who is third on the right of P, is 20th in the row from right, how many boys are there in the row ?
Options:
A) 30
B) 28
C) Cannot be determined
D) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (b) 


Total number of boys in the row 

= position of S from left + position of S from right – 1

= 20 + 9 – 1 = 28 boys

Dear Student,

Here proper explanation already given, If we calculate total number of boys, we have to know any boy's place from right end and left end we have R's value from the left but we don't known from right so we use S, we calculate the value of S at the place of R from the right end. R was repeated in calculation thus we subtract 1.
