problem on dates (Question: 118628.0 )

Can u show any formula on how to solve this type..

Question:
If  10th August, 2001 was Tuesday, which day did fall on 15th September, 2002?
Options:
A) Thursday 
B) Wednesday 
C) Saturday 
D) Sunday
Solution:
Ans: (a) If both August, 2001 was Tuesday then 10th August, 2002 was one day after Tuesday. Thus, we can conclude that 10th August, 2002 was Wednesday. Now, total number of days from 10th August, 2002 to 15th September, 2002 is (21 + 15) = 36. Again, when we divide 36 by 7, we get 1 as remainder. Hence, 15th September, 2002 will be one day after Wednesday i.e. Thursday.
