problem in solution (Question:637229.0)

The solution is not clearly understood, elaborate the methodology adopted, angles taken into consideration.

Question:

In the following figure , two equal circles whose centres are O and O₁ intersect at two points A and B where AB = 2 cm and O₁ = 2 $\sqrt{3}$ cm. Find the measure of the angle $∠$ OAO₁ :

Options:

150^o

90^o

60^o

120^o

Solution:

Ans: (d)

Length of OM = $\frac{001}{2}$ = $\sqrt{3}$ m

Length of AM = $\frac{A B}{2}$ = 1 cm

Tan ( $∠$ OAM) = $\frac{\sqrt{3}}{1}$

$\to$ tan ( $∠$ OAM) = 60^o

Hence , $∠$ OAO₁= 120^o
