solution.......????????????????????????????

Question:

In an examination the standard of passing was 40%. Out of 9 students who appeared, 4 failed and the remaining get 80%, 57%, 51%, 68% and 79% marks. The median of the percentage marks is equal to:

Options:
A) 51%
B) 57%
C) 68%
D) 79%
Solution:
Ans: (a) From question:

we can say that the students who failed are below 40% mark's students. So Arranging their percentage marks in increasing order

F1 F2 F3 F4 51% 57% 68% 79% 80%

\(\therefore\) median of the % marks = \(\cfrac{n + 1}{2}\) th students marks

= \(\cfrac{9 + 1}{2}\) th students marks

= 5th student's marks

i.e. 51%.
